help of prisoners at HMP Bristol. We then sell them to help more people
across Bristol to start cycling.

Emmaus provides low cost furniture for people in need and raises funds
towards building an Emmaus Community. The Community will offer a
homeless person a home and work refurbishing donated furniture and
household goods to be sold in the Community shop. By donating to Emmaus
you are helping homeless men and women to get back on their feet.

The SOFA Project is a social enterprise helping people with new and
reused furniture and electrical appliances. Based in Bristol, SOFA
collects unwanted items free of charge from across the West and sells
them at affordable prices to everyone with further discounts available
to low income households. Items include furniture, household items, gas
cookers, electrical appliances, white goods and computers (they repair
and safety check).

Bristol Wood Recycling Project aims to rescue, re-use and recycle some
of the tonnes of wood going to landfill locally. They create volunteer,
training and employment opportunities for Bristol’s social
economy through doing this; as well as providing affordable timber to
the local community. They charge to collect – suitable for
businesses.

Thornbury Sort it Centre
(in the Industrial Estate) is run by South Gloucestershire Council and
is for domestic waste from South Gloucestershire residents. It
is
open 8am to 6:30pm every day until 30 September, then 8am to 4:30pm.
They take the following items:-
