Clever ideas about reusing items

A4 paper from junk mail – (if plain on one side and preferably unfolded) – use to print on.
Buttons from old torn clothes – sew on other clothes to change their design
Cardboard boxes – add, in proportion with kitchen waste, to compost bins
Catering sized coffee tins with smooth (blunt) tops – decorate to use as small rubbish bins or make a drum.
Clear plastic containers – seedling propagation covers. May help prevent slug attack
Deep lids from hairspray – make small table containers for cut or dried flower arrangements.
Fabric cut from bottom of long skirts etc. – use to make a matching bag.
Food jars with screw tops – Can be used as storage for dried rice, dried herbs, currants etc.
Greetings cards – cut up and use to design your own cards
Jam jars with lids – Give to people who make jam or marmalade. Or remove label and then use to store cosmetic items, cotton wool etc. (Keep out of children’s’ reach & sight)

Old Tee shirts – Remodel – e.g. Cut off torn necks and add lace. Or cut up to make cleaning and washing up cloths
